Every once in a while when attending a convention, you go excited to see one or another of the attending celebrities, only to have someone you weren’t particularly looking forward to becoming the favorite memory of the convention. Kandyse McClure is one of those memories for me, her intelligence, humor, good will, grace and yes silliness won me over completely during her Q&A session at the Dallas Comic Con in April 2008. And her continued good humor, kindness to, and consideration of those at the convention over the two days was nothing short of wonderful.

With the start of the tenth anniversary convention just under a week away, I’m sure that I’ll have fun, but the days of the small convention with the better chances to interact with the guests are over. I’ll miss that about the Richardson conventions.
